What this amendment would do

Ms. Rosen submitted this amendment, known as SA 1409, to the concurrent resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2025. Put simply, common sense tells us that folks we vote into office need to be straight with us about how government money is handled. This amendment aims to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund.

What It Aims to Change or Add

  • It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to make changes and adjustments to committee allocations, aggregates, and the pay-as-you-go ledger.
  • These adjustments are for legislation relating to increasing staffing levels at Federal agencies that protect consumers from price gouging and unfair corporate practices.
  • The whole operation has a strict rule: the legislation cannot increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
