What this amendment would do

  • Mr. Bennet submitted SA 1394 as an amendment to the concurrent resolution for the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025.

  • The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to the rehiring of Federal land management agency personnel responsible for awarding timber contracts.

  • It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to public land.

  • The changes apply to bills, joint resolutions, amendments, amendments between the Houses, motions, or conference reports that may include rehiring Federal land management agency personnel responsible for awarding timber contracts.

  • This applies only if the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
