What this amendment would do
This amendment, submitted by Mr. Bennet as SA 1393, is about keeping our elected officials accountable when it comes to supporting the people who served our country. The purpose of the amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund to the concurrent resolution.
What this aims to change or add to the bill is the ability for the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Budget to revise budget allocations, aggregates, and other levels. It also allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to public land. Specifically, this can include rehiring fired veterans at Federal land management agencies, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total fiscal years from 2025 through 2034.
