What this amendment would do
Mr. Bennet submitted SA 1382, which aims to add a new section to the concurrent resolution for the fiscal year 2025 budget.
What it changes or adds
-
It creates a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to protecting disaster response.
-
It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels.
-
It allows adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to any action that would limit the ability of the Federal Government to respond in times of disaster, including wildfires, flooding, tornadoes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters.
-
It requires that the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
