What this amendment would do
Mr. Bennet submitted SA 1377, which is an amendment intended to be proposed to the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14.
- The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to protecting access to health care in rural communities at the end of title III.
- It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
- It also allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to protecting access to health care, including preventing any actions that financially harm rural hospitals or providers.
- This is allowed provided that the legislation would not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
