What this amendment would do
Mr. Bennet submitted SA 1371, which is an amendment intended to be proposed for the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and sets appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.
Purpose of the Amendment
-
The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to advancing new and emerging energy technologies at the end of title III.
-
It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
-
These revisions and adjustments can be made for legislation relating to energy innovation, including prohibiting any action that would limit investment in research, development, and demonstration for new or emerging energy technologies.
-
The amendment specifically requires that such legislation must not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
