What this amendment would do
As folks keeping an eye on how our government works, we need to know what our elected officials are putting on the table. Mr. Bennet submitted an amendment, SA 1364, which was proposed to the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14.
What the Amendment Aims to Do
-
The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund to the bill.
-
This fund relates to security assistance for trilateral exercises between the United States, Japan, and the Philippines.
-
It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise allocations and make adjustments for legislation that increases security assistance for these specific trilateral exercises.
-
The catch is that any such legislation would not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
