What this amendment would do
Ms. Blunt Rochester submitted amendment SA 1350 to the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14, which establishes the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and sets forth appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.
Purpose and Changes
The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to preventing Medicaid cuts to children with disabilities. It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
These adjustments are for legislation that blocks Medicaid cuts which would compromise services to children with disabilities, provided that the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034. The text notes that these services may include:
-
School-based services
-
Respite care
-
Family peer support services
-
Pre-vocational services
-
Community transition services
