What this amendment would do

Ms. Blunt Rochester submitted amendment SA 1348 to the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14.

The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to protecting United States maritime infrastructure, maritime awareness, vessel traffic services, and critical operations.

What It Aims to Change or Add

  • It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.

  • It allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to protecting the maritime interests of the United States.

  • It covers purposes that may include strengthening maritime infrastructure, maritime awareness, vessel traffic services, or critical maritime operations, provided the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
