What this amendment would do

MR. WARNOCK submitted SA 1344, which is an amendment related to the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025.

The purpose of this amendment is to set up a deficit-neutral reserve fund that focuses on protecting customer service at the Social Security Administration.

  • Allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.

  • Applies these changes for legislation relating to protecting customer service at the Social Security Administration, as long as that legislation does not increase the deficit from fiscal years 2025 through 2034.

  • Supports purposes that may include improving wait times at field offices, improving hold times on the national 1-800 Number, reducing processing times on disability claims, reducing backlog, or preventing the closure of field offices in rural communities.
