What this amendment would do
Mr. Reed submitted amendment SA 1328, which relates to the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and sets forth appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.
The purpose of this amendment is to create a reserve fund relating to strengthening local shipyard capability and capacity.
It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution. It also allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to strengthening the local industrial shipbuilding and repairing capability and capacity of the United States.
- This may include investing in the Small Shipyard Grant Program authorized under section 54101 of title 46, United States Code, by the amounts provided in such legislation for those purposes.
