What this amendment would do

Mr. King submitted amendment SA 1309, which was ordered to lie on the table. The purpose of this amendment is to establish a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to cybersecurity.

It aims to allow the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Budget to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution. It also allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to cybersecurity.

This can include increasing the number of Coast Guard Cyber Protection Teams, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
