What this amendment would do

Mr. Bennet submitted SA 1289 as an amendment intended to be proposed to the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14.

The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to ensuring deported United States military veterans have access to pathways for legal return and reinstated benefits.

What it Aims to Change or Add

  • It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.

  • It allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to ensuring deported United States military veterans have access to pathways for legal return and reinstated benefits.

  • These adjustments can only be made if the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
