Mr. Welch, along with several other senators, submitted an amendment to the bill S. 331, which deals with the scheduling of fentanyl-related substances.
The purpose of this amendment is to add a new section focused on access to life-saving drug testing technologies. It aims to change how States treat these devices by setting clear rules for our elected officials to follow regarding public safety tools.
What the Amendment Changes and Adds
-
States are banned from stopping any individual from obtaining, possessing, distributing, or using life-saving drug testing technologies.
-
States are banned from prosecuting anyone solely for obtaining, possessing, distributing, or using these technologies.
