What this amendment would do

Mr. Kaine submitted amendment SA 1213 to propose an addition at the end of title III of the concurrent resolution.

  • The amendment adds a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to funding for the Child Care and Development Block Grant program.
  • It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
  • It allows adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to making child care of higher quality and more affordable.
  • This may include increasing funding for the Child Care and Development Block Grant program, provided the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
