What this amendment would do
Mr. Padilla submitted amendment numbered SA 1187 to be proposed to the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 7 for the fiscal year 2025 budget. The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to protecting national security and the privacy of Americans and small businesses.
This amendment aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger. This applies to legislation relating to protecting national security and the privacy of Americans and small businesses. This may include preventing access to sensitive data such as Social Security numbers, bank account details, and medical history for unauthorized use in the development of artificial intelligence, provided that the legislation does not increase the deficit from fiscal year 2025 through 2034.
