What this amendment would do
-
Blocks funding: This amendment creates a rule in the Senate that stops any bill, resolution, motion, or conference report from funding immigration enforcement actions at hospitals.
-
Sets a high hurdle to bypass: To get around this rule and allow funding for these actions anyway, it takes a three-fifths vote of all chosen and sworn Senators.
-
Protects the rule: If someone challenges the rule and the Chair makes a ruling on it, it also takes a three-fifths vote of all chosen and sworn Senators to overturn that ruling.
