What this amendment would do
-
Mr. Daines submitted amendment numbered SA 1154 to the concurrent resolution setting the congressional budget for fiscal year 2025 and setting budgetary levels through 2034.
-
The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to increasing intergovernmental cooperation to better secure United States land and sea borders.
What It Aims to Change or Add
-
It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
-
It permits adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to protecting national security by facilitating increased cooperation between State and local law enforcement agencies and the Department of Homeland Security to better secure United States land and sea borders.
-
This applies as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2029 or the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
