What this amendment would do
As folks looking out for the everyday people, we need to keep a close eye on what our elected officials are trying to do with our budget. Mr. Padilla submitted amendment SA 1105 to the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 7 for the fiscal year 2025 budget.
What It Aims to Change
-
The amendment adds a new point of order in the Senate.
-
It aims to stop the consideration of certain bills, joint resolutions, amendments, or conference reports that would lead to cuts in Federal programs or investments in renewable energy and undermine America's energy independence and security.
-
It sets a rule that this point of order can only be waived or suspended, or an appeal of the Chair's ruling sustained, by an affirmative vote of three-fifths of the sworn Members of the Senate.
