A Senate resolution is the Senate speaking for itself: stating a position, honouring someone, or setting its own rules. Adopting it is the whole process. Once the Senate agrees to it, it is officially the Senate's word; it is not a law, so the House and the President have no part in it.
What this bill would do
This resolution authorizes the Senate Majority Leader to move toward the en bloc consideration of certain nominations. A "covered nomination" excludes certain high-level positions such as those at level I of the Executive Schedule, district court judges, court of appeals judges, or Supreme Court Justices. The Majority Leader can move to proceed with up to 15 covered nominations at once, provided they were reported by the same Senate committee and placed on the calendar. The consideration process for these nominations would follow the same manner as a motion to proceed to a single nomination.
Yes
Does this shorten or soften prison sentences?+1
The bill streamlines the confirmation process for certain non-judicial nominations, which may indirectly impact the efficiency of the justice system.
The opposite
Does this make what the government does easier for the public to see?-1
By allowing multiple nominations to be considered en bloc, the bill reduces the individual visibility of each specific nomination during the Senate process.

Potential Negative Impacts for People
- Exclusion of High-Level Judicial and Executive Oversight: Certain high-level positions, including those at level I of the Executive Schedule, district court judges, court of appeals judges, and Supreme Court Justices, are excluded from this en bloc consideration process (Section 1(a)).
