What this bill would do
This bill, titled the "Harriet Tubman Tribute Act of 2025," requires the Secretary of the Treasury to redesign $20 Federal reserve notes. The new design must include a likeness of Harriet Tubman on the face of the notes. All $20 Federal reserve notes printed after December 31, 2030, must feature this new design. However, the Secretary has the authority to delay this deadline by up to 2 years. This delay can be granted if it is determined that the new notes would create an unacceptable risk of counterfeiting or impact the safe and speedy functioning of the economy.
