What this bill would do
The "Lactation Spaces for Veteran Moms Act" requires the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide a lactation space in every medical center. These spaces must be hygienic, shielded from view, free from intrusion, and accessible to disabled individuals. Each space must include a chair and a working surface, be easy to locate, and be clearly identified with signage. The Secretary must ensure that at least 80 percent of medical centers comply within two years, with full compliance required within three years. Additionally, the Secretary is required to submit annual progress reports to Congressional committees until all centers are compliant.
