What this bill would do

This bill is known as the Veteran Acquired Brain Injury Caregiving Act. It requires the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to run a five-year pilot program. This program will let certain veterans use funds from the Veteran-Directed Care program to buy care from eligible veteran mission-driven nonprofits. The program must be set up at not fewer than five Department of Veterans Affairs medical centers within 180 days of the bill's enactment. The Secretary of Veterans Affairs is also required to submit annual reports to Congress regarding the program's progress and results.
