What this bill would do
This bill is called the No Payouts for Political Insiders Act. It places limits on certain judgments, awards, and compromise settlements under section 1304 of title 31, United States Code. Specifically, it stops funds from being authorized for payments administered under the Anti-Weaponization Fund from the settlement agreement in Trump v. Internal Revenue Service. The restrictions apply to high-ranking officials, including the President, Vice President, members of Congress, and certain campaign and executive branch employees. It also requires that details about the payment, such as the recipient's name and amount, be provided not later than 180 days in advance of a payment. Finally, the bill applies to any pending case or cause of action arising on or after January 20, 2025.
