What this bill would do
The Truckee Meadows Public Lands Management Act is designed to facilitate economic development and conservation efforts within Washoe County, Nevada. The bill directs various land conveyances to local cities, counties, and school districts for public uses such as parks, roads, and school sites. It also establishes several National Conservation Areas and adds significant acreage to the National Wilderness Preservation System. Furthermore, the legislation provides for the transfer of land into trust for several Indian Tribes, including the Pyramid Lake Paiute, Reno-Sparks Indian Colony, and the Washoe Tribe.
