What this bill would do
The Workforce Transparency Act of 2026 establishes a system for the voluntary sharing of workforce data related to artificial intelligence. It allows AI system providers and their customers to submit aggregated, de-identified information regarding how AI is being used in various tasks and geographic areas. The Secretary of Labor, in coordination with other agencies, will manage this data and maintain a public database. This information is intended to help improve economic and education policymaking. The Act includes strict safeguards to protect individual privacy and proprietary business information. Participation in this data-sharing framework is entirely voluntary.
