What this bill would do
This bill establishes an apprenticeship advisory committee within the Department of Labor to improve data standardization and integration. The Secretary of Labor will appoint various members, including representatives from state agencies, labor organizations, and industry, to serve for the life of the committee. Within two years, this committee must submit a report to the Secretary of Labor and Congress containing specific recommendations for data integration and workforce tracking. Following this report, the Secretary of Labor and the Secretary of Education will create a policy plan. Finally, the Secretary of Labor will request targeted appropriations from Congress to implement this plan.
