What this bill would do
The "Trucking Security and CCP Disclosure Act of 2026" aims to secure the transport of Department of Defense (DoD) freight. It requires motor carriers, including subcontractors and owner-operators, to certify they are not owned by or closely linked to Chinese military companies. The bill also creates the Secure Defense Freight Carrier Registry to vet and approve carriers. To bid on or perform DoD freight contracts, carriers must be listed in this registry. The Secretary of Defense can grant waivers for exigent circumstances.
