What this bill would do
This bill creates a group called the Economy of the Future Commission to study how artificial intelligence is changing our economy. The group will be made up of members appointed by congressional leaders and nonvoting officials from key government departments. Their main job is to come up with legislative recommendations that address economic shifts, job changes, and tax issues related to artificial intelligence. The Commission is required to share an interim report with the public and later submit a final report with specific policy recommendations. To do this work, the bill provides five million two hundred fifty thousand dollars in funding. Ultimately, the Commission will wrap up its work and shut down shortly after delivering its final report.
