What this bill would do
The North Rim and Kaibab National Forest Restoration Act of 2026 authorizes emergency acquisition flexibilities for the National Park Service and Forest Service. These flexibilities are intended to expedite the clearing, rebuilding, maintenance, and improvement of areas within the Grand Canyon National Park and Kaibab National Forest damaged by the Dragon Bravo Fire and White Sage Fire. The bill allows for expedited contractor approval for forest management, structure rebuilding, and economic recovery efforts. To ensure accountability, the Secretary concerned must submit regular reports to Congress regarding expenditures and progress.
