What this bill would do
This bill is known as the Haulers of Agriculture and Livestock Safety Act of 2025 or the HAULS Act of 2025. It changes the rules for how many hours certain workers can drive when they are hauling farm goods. Specifically, it amends the Motor Carrier Safety Improvement Act of 1999 to adjust agricultural exemptions for hours of service requirements. The bill also updates how an agricultural commodity is defined. Finally, it requires the Secretary of Transportation to update this definition within 180 days of the bill becoming law.
