What this bill would do

This bill, known as the "Motorcycle Safety Awareness Act of 2025," seeks to amend title 23 of the United States Code regarding motorcyclist safety. It changes the requirements for what must be included in certain criteria by increasing the number of required criteria from two to three. One of these required criteria must now include driver education and driving safety courses. These courses would include instruction and testing on motorcyclist awareness. This instruction covers state-specific motorcycle laws and share-the-road principles. The changes are set to take effect two years after the act is enacted.
