What this bill would do
The "Upholding a Secure Postal System Act" or "USPS Act" requires the Comptroller General of the United States to investigate the theft of mail and United States Postal Service property. These investigations must be reported to specific Senate and House committees annually for five years. The reports must describe current measures to address theft and provide recommendations to combat it. To do this, the Comptroller General will consult with the United States Postal Inspection Service and the Inspector General of the Postal Service.
