What this bill would do

This bill is called the Nonprofit Governance Integrity Act. It aims to change the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. The bill stops certain foreign nationals from serving on the boards of directors for specific tax-exempt organizations. If these organizations let citizens or nationals of a covered nation serve on their governing bodies, they will lose their tax-exempt status. The rule applies to taxable years beginning after the date the Act is enacted.
