What this bill would do
The Preventive Home Visit Act amends the Social Security Act to include coverage for preventive home visits under Medicare. These visits, conducted by qualified professionals, involve assessing a person's home environment, identifying health risks, and providing referrals for home modifications or interventions. The goal is to improve physical function, balance, strength, mobility, nutrition, and reduce fall risks. Visits can occur in-person, remotely, or both, but are limited to once every two years. The amendments take effect on January 1, 2027.
