What this bill would do
This bill, called the "American Grown Act," aims to ensure that certain federal agencies, like the Executive Office of the President, the Department of Defense, and the Department of State, only buy cut flowers and cut greens grown in the United States. It also puts some rules around these agencies accepting foreign-grown flowers or greens as gifts. This law would start applying one year after the bill is passed.
