What this bill would do
The Fence Line Fairness Act of 2025 requires the Secretary of Agriculture to create oversight mediation committees in every state with National Forest System land. These committees are designed to help solve boundary disputes between the government and private landowners. Each committee consists of five private, active farmers or ranchers appointed by the Secretary and state departments. Private landowners must be notified of disputes and given the option to use this mediation process. The committees hold hearings and provide recommendations and findings to the Secretary and other officials.
