What this bill would do
The "Improving National Safety, Public health, Ethics, and Clinical Trials Act," also known as the "INSPECT Act," proposes to create three new Inspector General positions. These positions would be established for the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Food and Drug Administration. The President is required to appoint these individuals within one year after the Act becomes law. This bill amends section 401 of title 5, United States Code.
