What this bill would do
The Federal Workforce Freedom Act seeks to prohibit Federal employees from organizing, joining, or participating in labor unions for the purpose of collective bargaining or representation. It also forbids Federal agencies from recognizing or engaging in negotiations with these unions. Under this bill, any existing collective bargaining agreements would be terminated upon enactment. Additionally, any pending arbitration, dispute resolution, or grievance proceedings based on those agreements must be dismissed. Finally, the act repeals Chapter 71 of title 5, United States Code.
