What this bill would do
The LEARN AI Act aims to enable the Department of Labor to promote artificial intelligence within registered apprenticeship programs. The bill establishes a sense of Congress that workforce readiness for AI adoption should be a national policy. To achieve this, the Secretary of Labor is authorized to encourage AI instruction and develop best practices for its responsible use. Additionally, the Secretary may provide technical assistance to various entities seeking to incorporate AI competencies. The bill also supports Department of Labor efforts to prepare workers for technological changes. Finally, the act specifies that it does not require any program to adopt these changes.
