What this bill would do
This bill, known as the "No GRIFT Act of 2026," aims to limit compensation within certain nonprofit organizations. It targets nonprofits that receive more than 50 percent of their revenue from Department of Justice grants. If such an organization pays an officer or employee more than the annual salary authorized for the Attorney General, it becomes ineligible for Department of Justice grants. To prevent this, nonprofits must submit a certification with their grant applications. The act is intended to regulate specific grant recipients and for other purposes.
