What this bill would do
This bill, known as the ``EV Charging Accessibility Act'', directs the Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board to complete its work on electric vehicle charging station accessibility. The Board must finalize the proposed rule originally issued on September 3, 2024, within 18 months of this Act's enactment. This final rule must include minimum standards and accessibility guidelines for charging stations. If the Board fails to meet the 18-month deadline, the proposed rule will automatically become the final rule. Following this, the Secretary of Transportation and the Attorney General have 180 days to issue necessary regulations to adopt these guidelines.
