What this bill would do
This bill, titled the "TREAT PTSD TRICARE Act," directs the Secretary of Defense to provide stellate ganglion block treatments to certain members of the Armed Forces. It specifically targets members who have performed or are performing active service, are enrolled in TRICARE, and have been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder. To receive the treatment, members must elect to receive it after being informed of the risks and benefits by a qualified health care provider. The Secretary may provide this through Department medical facilities or through TRICARE health insurance providers. Additionally, the Secretary is required to update the VA/DOD Clinical Practice Guideline for the Management of PTSD to reflect this therapy option.
