Potential Positive Impacts for People
-
Access to Vital Information: The program will provide information on the compatibility of unleaded gasoline with aircraft and engines, as well as a list of requirements like supplemental type certificates (Section 2(b)(1)). This helps people understand if new fuels are safe and legal for their specific aircraft.
-
Tracking New Fuel Progress: The Administrator must maintain a public tracking mechanism for various versions of unleaded gasoline undergoing evaluation (Section 2(b)(1)(B) and Section 2(b)(2)). This allows the community to know when new products are nearing authorization.
-
Availability and Financial Incentives: The program will include information on when products become available for purchase and any available Federal incentives or tax credits (Section 2(b)(1)(C) and Section 2(b)(1)(F)).
-
Safety and Proper Handling: Through coordinated annual training, staff at fixed-base operators will be informed about fuel differences and the impacts those fuels have on airplanes (Section 2(c)). This ensures those handling the fuel are properly informed.
Potential Negative Impacts for People
- Program Conclusion: The established education program is set to terminate on December 31, 2036 (Section 2(e)).
