What this bill would do
The Consumer Price Information Act of 2026 requires agencies to publish a Consumer Price Information Statement for every major rule issued. These statements must describe potential price impacts on goods and services like energy, food, housing, transportation, and health care. The bill also requires identifying populations that might be more sensitive to these changes, such as seniors or low-income households. Statements must be published in the Federal Register and on the agency's website when a rule is proposed. This act will take effect 60 days after it is enacted.
