What this bill would do
This bill, known as the Active Transportation for Public Lands Act, seeks to amend title 23 of the United States Code. It requires the Secretary of Transportation to set aside a specific portion of funding each fiscal year. Specifically, the Secretary must use not less than 5 percent of funds authorized for programs under sections 203 and 204 for active transportation. These funds are drawn from the Federal lands transportation program and the Federal lands access program. The goal is to fund various projects and activities related to nonmotorized transportation.
