What this bill would do
The Federal Fraud Prevention Workforce Training Act aims to establish a government-wide training program to prevent fraud and improper payments. The Secretary of the Treasury and the Director of the OMB may create this program to teach federal employees how to identify risks and use specific resources to stop fraud. Mandatory participation is required for many federal employees in oversight or financial roles within 180 days of appointment or every two years thereafter. Additionally, the program may be made available at no cost to state, local, or tribal entities administering federal funds. The Secretary of the Treasury and the OMB must also submit annual reports on the program's implementation and effectiveness.

One recorded vote has been taken on this bill.
- The House: a fast-track vote, needing two-thirds to passPassed 393–0
The House sets aside its normal procedure to move quickly: no amendments, little debate, and a two-thirds bar instead of a simple majority. It is used for measures expected to be uncontroversial, so a bill that fails here failed despite broad expectations that it would not.
