What this bill would do
This bill, titled the "Endless Mountains National Heritage Area Act," seeks to amend the John D. Dingell, Jr. Conservation, Management, and Recreation Act. It proposes to establish the Endless Mountains National Heritage Area in the State of Pennsylvania as a component of the National Heritage Area System. This area would consist of Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna, and Wyoming Counties, along with other portions of Pennsylvania counties identified in a feasibility study. The Endless Mountains Heritage Region, Inc. would serve as the local coordinating entity. Additionally, the local coordinating entity must submit a proposed management plan to the Secretary of the Interior within three years. The Secretary's authority to provide assistance for this area is set to terminate 15 years after the Act's enactment.
