What this bill would do
This bill, known as the "DEI to DIE Act," seeks to end diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs within the Federal Government. It directs the OMB, Attorney General, and OPM to coordinate the termination of all DEI and DEIA mandates, policies, and activities. Agency heads are required to terminate all DEI, DEIA, and "environmental justice" offices, positions, and action plans within 60 days. The Act also mandates a review of federal employment practices to ensure they reward individual skills and hard work instead of DEI factors. Finally, it requires agencies to assess the economic and social costs of these prior programs.
