What this bill would do
This bill is called the Most Favored Patient Act of 2026. It requires the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation to test a Most Favored Nations Pricing Model starting on January 1, 2029. Under this model, drug manufacturers must provide access to the most-favored-nation price for certain covered drugs to eligible individuals and healthcare providers. The pricing model will be carried out for a period of 5 years. The bill also allows the Secretary to suspend these requirements if a manufacturer enters into a covered agreement that includes increasing manufacturing operations in the United States.
